Notre Dame Women's Basketball Hosts Clinic for YWCA Children

Earlier this month, the children at YWCA North Central Indiana had the opportunity to spend the day with some incredible role models as members of the Notre Dame Women's Basketball team hosted a special basketball clinic filled with learning, laughter, and encouragement.

Throughout the clinic, the student-athletes led basketball drills, played games, and spent time getting to know the children. While they were teaching passing, dribbling, and shooting, they were also demonstrating teamwork, perseverance, confidence, and kindness—qualities that extend far beyond the basketball court.

For many of the children and families we serve, opportunities like this are about much more than sports. They are a chance to experience joy, build confidence, and connect with positive role models who show them what is possible. Watching strong, compassionate women invest their time and energy into our children sends a powerful message: you matter, you are capable, and your future is full of possibility.

Coach Niele Ivey has been a dedicated supporter of YWCA North Central Indiana for many years, and her continued partnership means so much to our organization. Her commitment to empowering women and uplifting young people reflects the values we strive to foster every day. We are incredibly grateful that she and her team continue to make time for the families we serve.

The smiles, laughter, and excitement throughout the clinic were a reminder that healing is found not only through safety and support, but also through moments of connection, encouragement, and belonging. Experiences like these help children build self-confidence, create lasting memories, and simply enjoy being kids.
