The holidays are a time for coming together, finding comfort in familiar traditions, and making memories with the people we love. But for women and children facing domestic violence, the season can look very different. Instead of feeling safe at home, many are navigating uncertainty, difficult decisions, and the challenge of finding a way forward.
At YWCA North Central Indiana, we know that hope can begin with something as simple as knowing you are not alone.
This holiday season, we invite you to be part of something meaningful. Through Hope for the Holidays, your generosity helps provide the support, resources, and care that women and children need as they work toward safer, brighter futures.
More Than a Safe Place
For someone experiencing domestic violence, finding safety is often only the beginning.
Survivors may face financial uncertainty, housing challenges, concerns about their children, and the difficult process of rebuilding their lives. Leaving an abusive relationship is not always simple, and the path forward can look different for every individual and family.
That is why YWCA North Central Indiana’s work extends beyond emergency shelter.
We provide comprehensive services to survivors throughout St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties, helping women, children, and families access the resources they need to move forward. Our services include emergency safe shelter, 24/7 crisis support, individualized safety planning, counseling, case management, legal advocacy, supportive housing, and economic empowerment resources.
For children, the impact of domestic violence can reach far beyond what happens at home. Access to supportive services, caring adults, and opportunities to experience childhood can make an important difference as families begin to heal.
Every family’s journey is different. Our commitment remains the same: to meet people where they are, provide compassionate support, and help them take the next step toward safety and stability.
Giving Hope When It Matters Most
The holiday season can be especially difficult for families experiencing crisis. For women and children who have left an abusive home, it may be their first holiday in a new environment, away from familiar traditions and the people they once called home.
With the support of our community, we can help make that experience a little brighter.
Your generosity helps ensure that women and children have access to essential services, compassionate care, and the resources they need as they begin rebuilding their lives. It helps create moments of comfort during uncertainty and reminds families that their community cares about their safety and future.
Hope is not simply a feeling. It is knowing that help is available. It is having someone to turn to when the next step feels overwhelming. It is the opportunity to build a future where safety, dignity, and possibility are within reach.
That is what your support helps make possible.
A Community That Makes Hope Possible

Whether you are making a gift, sharing our mission, or encouraging others to get involved, you are helping create a community where survivors are supported and families have the opportunity to move forward.
This holiday season, we invite you to join us in giving hope.
Your generosity helps women and children find safety, access support, and begin building brighter futures. Together, we can make the holidays a little brighter and help create lasting change for the families we serve.
Give hope for the holidays. Help make a safer, brighter tomorrow possible.
Thank you for standing with the women, children, and families in our community. Your compassion makes a difference far beyond the holiday season.
