October 15th – Police officer Recognition Ceremony

Each year the YWCA holds an official recognition ceremony, recognizing the officers in our community who have exceeded expectations with the Danger Assessment Law Enforcement tool. This will take place at 10:00 am at the County-City Building. The DALE has been used in St. Joseph County for several years now. This tool helps the officers and our staff gather information on lethality risks on Domestic Violence calls.

October 19th – Everybody Has A Story (www.ehassb.com)

6th annual music and variety show benefiting the YWCA. Curtis Lord & Friends, local musicians, and storytellers will come to downtown South Bend for the sixth time on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at South Bend’s premier entertainment venue, Vegetable Buddies.

October 21st – Movie Screening

YWCA staff and community members come together for a movie screening of Power & Control: Domestic Violence in America. This film revolves around a mother and her three children fleeing to a Domestic Violence shelter and their journey to find a safe, violent free home. Light refreshments will be provided. If you would like to attend this free screening please call 574-233-9491 or email jperkins@ywcancin.org.
