DA-LE Officers Honored

Categories: News

For many abuse victims in North Central Indiana, 11 questions have meant the difference between life and death. The DA-LE screening was implemented to keep those who were at high risk of becoming homicide victims from becoming another tragic statistic. The Danger Assessment for Law Enforcement screening has been used 1,534 times in St. Joseph County, with 583 people able to seek help before it was too late. As a result, Susan Tybon, CEO of the YWCA North Central Indiana, and all three police departments recognized 12 officers and three detectives for going above and beyond the call of duty to protect abused victims. We’d like to thank the officers and detectives listed below for their efforts:

  • Patrolman Jess Fisher (Right Center)
  • Corporal Base Daniel Yeager (Left Center)
  • Patrolman Exavier Wigfall (Right)
  • Detective Maria Grise
